Where’s Your Evidence?
You’ve walked in BOLD Faith. You’ve stepped out Beyond Reason. Now, are you ready to present your Evidence?
Webster defines ‘Evidence’ as an outward sign, indication: something that furnishes proof or testimony. Therefore, what is your Spiritual Evidence? What is your proof, your outward sign of faith? The Bible says we prove we’re followers of Christ when we produce much fruit [John 15:8]
At some point, we were all filled with darkness. However, once we accepted Christ into our lives, we stepped into light. As Christians we should live correctly, in truth and produce goodness. We should live our lives to be a constant proofs of what is most acceptable to God. Avoiding things like anger, wrath, jealousy or bitterness because these are “unfruitful actions of darkness.”
Galatians 5:22-23 [TLB] defines Spiritual Fruits “But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives He will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” If we live by the Holy Spirit, we should be producing these fruits. Galatians 5:26 warns us once again not to be arrogant, not to make each other angry and not to be jealous of each other.
People like to quote the scripture “ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” Let’s take a deeper look at the scripture. John 15:6-7 first explains that those who are not in Christ are like dead branches. They are gathered up and thrown on the fire to burn. However, if you remain in Christ, and His words remain in you, THEN and only THEN, can you ask and it will be done for you.
Over the next several months I will go into more detail about each Fruit of the Spirit. During this time, I want you to write down Galatians 5:22 & 23 and work to produce those fruits. Watch your conversations, your actions and reactions to see if they line up with the Word of God.
Remember, in order for us to prove we are Christians (followers of Christ), we must present Evidence / The Fruits of the Spirit.
