When Others Try To Kill Your Dream

When Others Try To Kill Your DreamHave you ever faced someone close to you who wanted to destroy your promise, your dreams, your destiny, your future? You are not alone!

There are those people who become envious of you, who want to control your life, because you have what they don’t: dreams, courage, strength, money, happiness, friends, etc. And because you stand on the promise given by the Lord, they seek to kill that promise.

They don’t want you to enjoy life, or have what they’ve lost. They’ll lie and try to persuade others to side with them, even if it means they have to kill your dream.

The bible speaks  about a self-centered woman just like this. She had lost her hope and wanted the dream of another to be killed.

Two women who lived together came before King Solomon. Both had children within a few days of each other and one child died. One woman sought the king to side with her. She told him “During the night this woman’s son died because she lay on him. So she got up in the middle of the night and took my son from my side while I your servant was asleep. She put him by her breast and put her dead son by my breast. The next morning, I got up to nurse my son—and he was dead! But when I looked at him closely in the morning light, I saw that it wasn’t the son I had borne.”

The other woman said, “No! The living one is my son; the dead one is yours.” When the king saw that both women were claiming a right to the living child, he asked for a sword and gave an order to “Cut the living child in two and give half to one and half to the other.”

At that moment, the real mother was moved out of love for her son and asked the king not to kill the child, to let the other woman have him. But the woman whose child was dead said “Neither I nor you shall have him. Cut him in two!”

Because the king was filled with wisdom, he said “Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.” [1 Kings 3:16-27]

There will always be people who want to control your dream. They will bear false witness and try to convince someone else to kill your promise, your dream. However, you have to stand confident in faith. Never allow anyone to judge the gifts in your life and always hold on to the promises that God has given you. God is the ultimate Judge, He is in Control and He will deliver a righteous verdict.
